History of Handwriting
-
The History of Writing discovers the way of expressing language using various letters and other symbols. Human beings began to write some 8000 years ago. Initially, they started to use various forms of symbols, which then moved on from pictograph to phonographs. Over centuries these developed into a set pattern, which usually came to be known as “language”.
Writing has a very deep history. It began as simple pictographs drawn on a rock, which was then mingled to exhibit various ideas which then developed into more abstract symbols. Just like our writing today, symbols were used earlier to communicate with others, which helped people to become more imaginative and innovative.
In the ancient days, people communicated generally through oral form amalgamating various customs and traditions, generations passing on the stories from one generation to the other.

Penned communication came into presence in the mode of illustrated epitaphs to specified visual presentations. Mohenjo-Daro & Harappan civilizations adopted the visual form at their best, which was depicted in their regular use, i.e., through the Seals and their Mudras.
Writing is a form of plain coded and classified symbols that are used by a specific community to interact with each other, this is generally known as “language”. Accessible evidence suggests three major cultural developments in writings: Sumerian-cuneiform, Egyptian- hieroglyphs, Chinese-kanji. Visual representation later became pictographs unfolding themselves above the actual drawings, representing variant ideas through them. The ideographs were written from top to bottom, left to right, or right to left. Phonetics was the amalgamation of several curtailed ideographs.
