  • Why is it necessary for us to write?

  • Before we acknowledge about good handwriting, we must always prompt ourselves that why do we need to write. We write to:

    • Remind ourselves of something which we do not want to forget
    • Convey another person what we know
    • And to let a person know what we want
    • Handwriting is not a secluded activity; neither can it be completely considered as motor activity. It is a part of language activity.

Writing always needs to be clear

    • “Clear” means that our writing should be easily readable.
    • We need to understand what we write, that’s why it should be legible.

    Further …

A student’s incapability to store the information in a persistent and clear form can slow down his / her improvement in any field. This results in depression and apathy. Handwriting difficulties can, therefore, weaken academic improvement. Henceforth, the quality and quantity of handwriting are strongly combined with getting achievement in the examinations.

  • Importance of Handwriting

  • Motivating one to read by gratifying them with custom prizes can help to develop a love for reading and writing. Improvement of communication skills entails a vital step in this complete developmental process. Handwriting is a way that integrates all these. Though it may not seem important for us in today’s world, it’s is a powerful weapon for learning anything.

In today’s culture handwriting seems to be an out dated concept. Our generation these days depends more on signs, variant brand names in television commercials; even, computers and the evolution of printing technology have made handwriting seem out of date and a practice that is no longer in need because we can learn to just type whatever we need to write. Texting has made people leave out of letters, which is better for convenience but can be inimical, resulting in people forgetting how to spell the exact words. Handwriting counterbalances all these prejudices.

Writing and reading are conjointly related together. While we write something our brain must have that much capability to read and process it several times.  Handwriting is a contemplation of one’s originality and its evolution can emulate the progress of an individual. With the printed word, we find more of a consistent text, but it lacks the individual touch of one’s handwriting. This makes printed word less personal and it establishes a mental disconnect between the printed word and the reader, as the experts argue. This is why the improvement of one’s handwriting skills is so essential. Many experts argue that handwriting is an important part of one’s learning process.
